Product Description

5-Button flip-out key with remote start.  Only for vehicles that require the key be inserted into the ignition switch and turned to start the vehicle. This is NOT for Passive Entry, Passive Start vehicles. (PEPS)  If you have a push button start on your dash you need a PEPS key remote, not this one.

This remote fits the vehicles listed below:

• Chevrolet Camaro (2010-2016)
• Chevrolet Cruze (2011-2016) (2016 Sonic may use different remotes.  Make sure your's looks like this one)
• Chevrolet Equinox (2010-2017)
• Chevrolet Impala (2014-2017) (2017 and newer require two working keys to program a 3rd)
• Chevrolet Malibu (2013-2016)
• Chevrolet Sonic (2012-2017) (2017 requires two working keys to perform this procedure.)

PROGRAMMING: The remote you purchase needs to be programmed to work on your vehicle. Easy, do it yourself programming instructions are included with the purchase.  You will need to have the key cut to match your current key first.  Most locksmiths can do this for you. You will need to already have one working key that starts the vehicle.  2017 Sonic and 2017 and newer Impala require two working keys to perform this procedure.  Canadian vehicles require programming by a locksmith or dealership.

Your vehicle must already have the remote start option on it.  If not, buying this remote will NOT give you that function! (see notes below about AP8 vs AP3 code)

I bought 2 for my car. The locksmith easily cut the key and he programmed it quite quickly. So glad I got new ones,

    2013 Chevy Equinox

Worked, easy to program. Buttons were worn through on old fob, with one falling out. I just swap the un-cut key with old cut key by punching out the small pin at the base holding it in (tiny Allen wrench and small hammer). 15min from delivery to an operational key fob. Due note when installing old cut key where the pin notch is on both key and fob.

    2013 chevy equinox fob

FOB worked perfectly. Had a local locksmith laser burn the blank key, ($25) and followed instructions which were included to program it to the car. Dealership wanted around $250 to order it and cut the blank and program it. I saved around $200, thank you very much!!

    Perfect fit!

Posted by Lonnie Southard on 7th Oct 2024

I wasted money on a key fob case replacement for my 2014 Chevy Sonic that didn't fit the OEM key. Found this at a reasonable price. Had the key cut and din NOT allow them to do the $60 programming that I did follow the beyond easy instructions included in this purchase. Very highly recommended!!

    2012 Chevy Cruze Key Fob

Posted by Tim P. on 30th Aug 2024

I purchased 2 of these and took them to BatteriesPlus to have them cut. BatteriesPlus messed up the key cut, but was willing to refund me. Unfortunately, with the keys cut, there wasn't really anything else I could do with the key fob....I thought. I was about to disassemble the entire key to swap out the key blade as assembly when I noticed a very small rivet, only visible when the key was halfway extended. I popped the rivet out of my old key blade on the broken key fob, popped the rivet off of the new, poorly cut key fob, and swapped the old blade onto the new fob. It took a hammer, a nail, and some sand paper to get everything fitting right. Unfortunately I do still have 1 new key fob with a bad key cut that I was hoping to be able to use. Overall, it was a great deal from this website and I would purchase from them again, if needed.

2011 Camaro convertible . Locksmith cut it for $20 . Starts up and all buttons work as they should . Programing instructions were included. Took about 15 seconds to program and drive home with new key . Thank you
